Musing Mondays

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about new authors…

What is your policy when it comes to new authors? Do you feel comfortable purchasing a book or do you prefer to borrow new authors from the library? How often do you 'try out' a new author?

Well, anyone who's ever visited my home knows I'm not shy about buying books or trying new authors! I think these days new authors represent most of my reading, though I do try to keep up with my favorites. It does seem like that "favorites" list is growing longer all the time though! :-) Seriously though, blogging has done a lot to keep me on the lookout for the latest-and-greatest and if a book looks interesting enough to me I'm more than willing to keep my personal library stocked. Bookmooch and galleys keep costs down, but I'll buy when I can.

Musing Mondays is hosted by Rebecca at Just One More Page.

Cute blog!

I agree with you -- book blogging certainly opens you up to lots of new authors, books and genres!

I have no problem whatsoever reading new authors. I actually particularly like debut novels.

Oh wow! I could have written your answer to this Musing Monday :-) Why didn't I think of that answer when I was writing my post? LOL

I won't say that I agree that blogging has exposed me to new authors and genres.

Not because it is not true but just because everyone else said it first. Of course it is true! lol

I've been daring and reading new authors, too. Thanks to the blogging world, I've "discovered" authors I never would have read before.

I will buy a book...new author or not, if it appeals to me.

My only problem with blogging is that I sometimes feel TOO obligated to try the latest and greatest, and find myself ignoring old favorites. I have to pause every once in a while to go back to favorite authors and classics.
