Free Comic Book Day

Don't forget- today is Free Comic Book Day, an annual event put on by the comics industry where participating comic book shops all over the U.S. give out comics for kids and adults, mangas an more- Samplers, premiere issues, and extra stuff. It's great fun.

For those of you who don't read comics or graphic novels, Free Comic Book Day is a great no-risk way to try out a new genre. For those of you who do, it's a great way to see what's new and exciting from your favorite publishers.

Click to the Free Comic Book Day site to find participating shops in your area. I'm going to head out to Harvard Square soon and hit at least three different participating shops. I'll be back later today or tomorrow with my finds.

Have a great Saturday!

Thanks for the info!! I hadn't heard about this and my oldest is a big graphics novel fan! He lives in San Diego and it looks like there's lots of shops there participating! He's happy to hear about it!

I wonder how many people get a free comic book, and then start reading comics? I'll have to check with the other half.

My son is a huge graphic novel/comic book fan. I didn't get to this post in time for the free day, but now that you mention it, I think there is a comic book store in our area that we really should check out sometime. I am always looking for any excuse to buy books, so this should be fun!
