Friday Finds - Some More Books to Read

I do actually read the books I buy and acquire, lest you think that all my finds just pile up. I mean, some of them pile up, but lots of them get read, too. But I do keep getting them. Here are some that crossed my threshold this week.
I finally bought Robin Black's short story collection If I Loved You I Would Tell You This. It's just out in paperback and I can't wait to read this.
I picked up Jennifer Egan's A Visit from the Goon Squad after it won the Pulitzer. I have a good track record with Pulitzer winners and I'm looking forward to this.
It wouldn't be a week in books without something new from Europa Editions, one of my favorite publishers; I got their newly released novel French Leave, by Anna Gavalda, and Gourmet Rhapsody, an oldy-but-goody by Muriel Barbery, author of The Elegance of the Hedgehog. Both look great!

Have you read any of these? Do you want to do? Let me know what you're reading today and what's new on your shelf!

My interest is in A Visit from the Goon Squad. It surprises me with the awards it has won. would be looking out for it.

Currently reading 'The Secret Destiny of America' by Manly P. Hall.

Books acquired? Many... Amy of Amyreads sent me 9 books and I have also purchased a lot. I have a lot of Jane Austen to read. Would be posting it over the weekend.

Likewise, I have a HORRIBLE track record with Pulitzers, but I loved this book. So that says volumes. Read that one soon!

I have Goon Squad sitting on my TBR pile. I'm almost afraid to read it because it's received so much praise and many awards...don't want to be disappointed I guess. Haven't heard of the others, but they sound good. Enjoy!

I actually just bought Goon Squad last week, after reading all the press about the Pulitzer. I am really excited about it, and Sandy said that she loved it. I also had been eying that collection by Black, and will wait on your final verdict before I make any purchasing decision on that! I hope that you enjoy all three of these!

French Leave is in my tbr pile. I placed A Visit from the Goon Squad on hold at the library since it won the Pulitzer. I just started The Emperor of Maladies and I'm hoping to read a few more books this weekend before spring break ends. Happy reading.

I love Europa! I have Gourmet Rhapsody but French Leave is new to me!

I really enjoyed Gourmet Rhapsody, it helped me understand The Elegance of the Hedgehog better. French Leave is one I'll have to look into. Like you I will pick up anything I see published by Europa.

I have definitely moved the Egan book up my list now that it has won the Pulitzer. I hope you enjoy all of these.
