When I hear "stream of consciousness" I sometimes get a bit worried. My experiences with that style have not always been the best. Overall this one does interest me and I think I could enjoy it if I were in the right mood.Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01739982274914536036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1359999156621466745.post-37622869997946154762011-07-28T14:00:34.171-04:002011-07-28T14:00:34.171-04:00I am not really all that big of a fan of stream of...I am not really all that big of a fan of stream of consciousnesses writing, but the other things that you had to say about this book intrigue me. The simple fact that you call this one devastating, coupled with the last sentence of your review make me think that this one might be worth taking a chance on. I really enjoyed reading your astute thoughts on this book, and think I will be looking for it. Thanks again, Marie, for a beautiful review :)Zibileehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07443338685890187334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1359999156621466745.post-42402850037278381022011-07-28T12:06:08.788-04:002011-07-28T12:06:08.788-04:00R.J.- ouch! There was a ...Thanks for a very informative review. There was a time in my life when I would dive into sharing the angst of others through my reading choices. I'm a little more cautious at this point because I need more excitement and entertainment. I just get impatient with characters in books such as this one. I need uplifting characters that don't drag me down with them. Never would I slog through 400 pages of what sounds like a therapeutic journal assigned by a psychiatrist. Thanks for the heads up.R.
