So for the longest time (about seven years now) I haven't bought brand new books, just used copies at book sales, which doesn't solve the book storage problem because I actually buy more books for cheaper prices, but I digress.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I get most of the books I read from the library.   &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I have found that I own a lot of books that I haven't read.  I like to keep a reserve, like in case the library burns down or something.  :)  &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I do have a few favorites that I read over and over again, but usually only when I'm not feeling well.  They become comfort items. If I've got money to buy new, that's what I do, and when I run out of book budget for the month, I start re-reading my favorites and comfort reads to tide me over. :) One thing I've found myself doing is keeping strategically placed piles of books around the house so that my reading tastes are reflected throughout. It's one of the ideas I got from reading Jill Butler's &lt;A HREF="http://www.jillbutler.com/CreateTheSpace-1.html" REL="nofollow"&gt;Create the Space You Deserve&lt;/A&gt;.
