I'm so sad that the Borders in our neighborhood is closing. I was so happy when we moved here that there was a bookstore close by to go to. Now its closing. I really enjoyed going to Borders and will miss the 3 that are closing in my area. I've decided to shop Powell's online and save my bookstore trips for my trips to San Francisco, which has tons of great indie stores I can choose from.Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01739982274914536036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1359999156621466745.post-58080150440171344912011-02-20T20:15:36.374-05:002011-02-20T20:15:36.374-05:00I also couldn't work up any enthusiasm to go d...I also couldn't work up any enthusiasm to go down to the local Borders sale. It's not like we have so many choices for books here in Orlando, and to hear that another store is going down just depresses me. I wish we at least had one good indie to support, but we lost that one last year.Zibileehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05857638467064749190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1359999156621466745.post-84002542040040181872011-02-20T17:39:53.807-05:002011-02-20T17:39:53.807-05:00I have such mixed feelings about Borders. I'm collecting my thoughts about Borders. The last night "my" Borders was "Borders" and not the liquidators, as we were browsing they were taking fixtures and chairs out in droves. Today the lines to just get into the huge parking lot looked like something you'd see at the Super bowl!

Then having to deal with the ONLY bookstore near me going on of business (and of course there is always an online Indie to satisfy my needs), the weatherman is saying MORE SNOW! I have to think it'll help the company as a whole, and that could mean saving the Borders in my town (which is, happily for us, NOT on the closure list).

I just finished a book last night and have no pending review dates for over a month, so today I can start reading something new and totally discretionary!
