Unfinished Friday - First Edition

So I'm doing a test-run of a new meme this week, Unfinished Friday. The idea came up last week when I did a post about a book I hadn't finished, The Invisible Mountain, by Carolina de Robertis.

So do you have a book you haven't finished that you'd like to tell us about?

I know most of us endeavor to finish everything we read, but we don't have to, and sometimes it's impossible- it just doesn't work for us, for one reason or another. But it's still possible to get some mileage out of that work for your blog- by sharing it with us here on Fridays!

So comment below if you have an unfinished find to tell us about and we'll visit and comment on each others' posts, just like we do on Musing Mondays and Waiting on Wednesdays and all those other great bookish memes. Feel free to use the graphic I made as well. Who's going to be first?

This is really odd! I just finished tweaking my early morning post about books I've started and not finished. The post has also led me to change my blog name from Book Bird Dog to Book Dilettante! You're the first to know!

Please visit me at Half-Finished Books and a New Blog Name.

I may have to participate in this at some point if it continues on. But I'm still holding out hope for some of the books I've started.

This is a great idea - hope it catches on. My very short list is posted.

Excellent idea! The only one I can think of right now is 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. It was impossible for me to continue reading after the first 100 pages.

What a great idea, Marie! It's not often I don't finish a book. I'm not one to finish a book I am absolutely loathing, but I so rarely come across one I am not enjoying enough to finish. Count me lucky, I guess. At least this year. :-)

Lord Jim. I need to be in a mood to read Conrad, and hut for his perfect sentences. The Making of the Atomic Bomb. It's just to big, and to much detail on the lives of physicists (it's fun reading about your favorite ((every one has a favorite physicist)) but this book is just way to much).

This is really hard for me, to give up on a book. I'm very compulsive, I guess, plus I'm afraid to miss something in case it gets better...movies are usually much easier for me to give up on. However, my sweet class of children wanted me to give up The Magician's Elephant, Kate DiCamillo's newest, can you believe it?! They're into action right now, so I'm finishing it myself, silly things.

Marie I love this idea. Rather than give really bad reviews, I usually push them aside. This will give me an avenue to vent a bit in a nice way. LOL

What a great idea! I've only had a couple of books I haven't been able to finish and wrote reviews explaining why, but I like your idea of a meme much better!

I love this meme and have several books I've left Unfinished recently. Seems I'm in a bit of a book slump. I missed it this Friday, but I've got my post all ready for next Friday.

I love this idea! Sometimes, for whatever reason, I don't finish a book. I really did like "An Arsonist’s Guide to Writers’ Homes in New England," but never completed it. I'll start thinking of a good "Unfinished" for next Friday!

I like the concept of Unfinished Friday... I will be following along to see everyone's unfinished "tales."

Ready for tomorrow's Unfinished Friday, if I can manage to get a post written in time!

I rarely don't finish a book (if at all). For whatever reason I'm a glutton for punishment and suffer through the whole thing no matter what. LOL

I do adore the this meme though!
