A few finds- but enough for a post!
Now, it's not like I haven't found anything I wanted to read this week, but for some reason I've been slow to buy. I was in one of my favorite bookstores yesterday browsing and could easily have had myself a little shopping spree, but I just haven't been in a buying mood.
I did get a couple of things though.Penelope Lively's Booker Prize winning Moon Tiger came via Bookmooch.
A trip to the used-book section of Brookline Booksmith yielded two novels, both Europa Editions- the detective thriller The Midnight Choir, by Gene Kerrigan. It caught my eye because it's set in modern-day Dublin. I also found Jane Gardam's Orange Prize-nominated Old Filth. I'm not sure exactly why I bought it, but it just seemed like something I'd like.

What looked good to you this week?

ReplyDeleteGreat books. I want to read the Penelope Lively book, too. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI have heard great things about Lively's writing and do so hope that you enjoy the book. Also, Old Filth intrigues my by title alone, and since I don't know much about it, I will rely on you to give me the rundown on it!! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI have been slow in my readings and do not know when I would pick up. I am glad you are still on your friday finds...
ReplyDeleteI loved Old Filth, and Gardam's new companion novel, The Man in the Wooden Hat. She certainly has intriguing titles. Also a big Lively fan--most recently read her novel, Consequences. Hope you enjoy your selection. And I hope you've read Let the Great World Spin, by Collum McCann.
