A few finds- but enough for a post!
Now, it's not like I haven't found anything I wanted to read this week, but for some reason I've been slow to buy. I was in one of my favorite bookstores yesterday browsing and could easily have had myself a little shopping spree, but I just haven't been in a buying mood.

Penelope Lively's Booker Prize winning Moon Tiger came via Bookmooch.
A trip to the used-book section of Brookline Booksmith yielded two novels, both Europa Editions- the detective thriller The Midnight Choir, by Gene Kerrigan. It caught my eye because it's set in modern-day Dublin. I also found Jane Gardam's Orange Prize-nominated Old Filth. I'm not sure exactly why I bought it, but it just seemed like something I'd like.

I'm always in the mood to buy books, but sometimes am able to restrain myself. You always buy the most interesting looking books! I look forward to your reviews.
Great books. I want to read the Penelope Lively book, too. Have a great weekend.
I have heard great things about Lively's writing and do so hope that you enjoy the book. Also, Old Filth intrigues my by title alone, and since I don't know much about it, I will rely on you to give me the rundown on it!! Have a great weekend!!
I have been slow in my readings and do not know when I would pick up. I am glad you are still on your friday finds...
I loved Old Filth, and Gardam's new companion novel, The Man in the Wooden Hat. She certainly has intriguing titles. Also a big Lively fan--most recently read her novel, Consequences. Hope you enjoy your selection. And I hope you've read Let the Great World Spin, by Collum McCann.
The Midnight Choir and Old Filth are new to me, I need to check them out in more detail. Thanks Marie, and have a great weekend.
You bought interesting books!
Friday Finds: Serena by Ron Rash
Hmmmm. That Kerrigan book looks intriguing to me. Glad I stopped by to check out what you're planning to read. I'm always looking for good world detective fiction.
