Sunday Salon- Happy Fourth of July!

The Fourth of July is one of my favorites- family, fun and sunshine, not to mention time to be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy in the United States. As one country singer once said, "We don't always get it all right, but there's no where else I'd rather build my life."

Hope yours is a great one!

I'm away from home on this Fourth of July, attending a business meeting in Seattle. I'll be going home on the redeye tonight and maybe tomorrow there will be some time for celebrating.

Reading? Oh yeah, doing some of that. I brought my e-reader for the trip, as well as Amy MacKinnon's wonderful novel Tethered. I'm reading Elena Gorokhova's Mountain of Crumbs on my e-reader and really enjoying it. It's a memoir about growing up in the Soviet Union in the 1960s. I"ll have more to tell you about my trip soon! In the mean time have a great Sunday, whatever you're doing.

Sorry you are away from such a wonderful city for the 4th, but Seattle is wonderful for other reasons! Hope your trip home is good!

I once spent the Fourth in Seattle (many years ago!) and enjoyed watching the fireworks over Puget Sound.

Have fun and enjoy your reading.
