Which means no vlog once again. Things have been stressful around the house trying to acclimate the new furry family members; my hair is basically standing on end at this point. I feel like I've aged 10 years in the past 7 days! Anyway, here are my new books, all of which came for review.
The Paperbarck Shoe, by Goldie Goldbloom, about an albino girl who meets two Italian prisoners of war, came from a Picador Facebook promotion.
Adam Schwartz's
A Stranger on the Planet is about a dysfunctional family in the 1960s and 1970s. It came for review from the book's publicist after I requested it. The author is a professor at my alma mater, Wellesley College, and while I missed out on the chance to see him read from the book I can't wait to get started on it.
Finally, Cathleen Schine's
The Three Weissmanns of Westport has just been released in paperback and I received a review copy from the book's publicists after it was pitched to me. I'm very interested in reading a less-chick-lit take on modernizing Jane Austen; this book is based on
Sense and Sensibility and I'm looking forward to it.
Today's my birthday and I will probably buy myself a book at some point! I don't know what that will be though!
