A few fun finds this week.
The Tattered Cloak, a collection of short stories by Nina Berberova, came via Bookmooch. I'm a fan of hers and this collection looks great.
At Home: A Short History of Private Life is Bill Bryson's latest and came for review from Random House. I love him and can't wait to read this!
The Girl who Trod on a Loaf, by Kathryn Davis, is a used-bookstore find that just looked intriguing. Anyone read it? Or any of these?
What did you find this week? You can see more Friday Finds at ShouldbeReading.wordpress.com.
The Tattered Cloak sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteLove this Friday Find meme. Do you ever post intriguing reader-themed links to places here--a la Smithsonia, libraries of note, historic places and hot spots where readers and writers informally hang out or to where we might make a pilgrimage? Thanks, peace and happy weekend.

Putting At Home on my list...that reminds me, there was a history of the sofa that I meant to read last year. (No, seriously!)
ReplyDeleteI bet the Bill Bryson book is loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteI love Bryson's books!
ReplyDeleteHave a blast hopping to/following new blogs or finding great books! Here is my /Book
blogger hop/Follow me/Friday Find post!
I enjyed Bill Bryson's book.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
The Girl Who Trod on a Loaf has such an interesting title that I can't help but be intrigued. Will be eager to hear what you think of it. I also want to read some Bryson. I have heard very good things, but haven't yet tried anything. Very nice additions this week! I hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI so want the Bryson book! I've heard him interviewed a million times, and heard him read bits from so many books that I feel I know his work really well. Yet I've never read a single one of his books. I keep saying, "Okay, this one I must have," and then I never manage to get it. Time to hear another interview, I think.

I've had my eye on Bill Bryson's book.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of Bryson's but so far I have only read his travel memoirs. I am interested to see what his non-travel stuff is like.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely fell in love with Bill Bryson when I listened to the Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid this summer. I will definitely add At Home to my TBR pile!
ReplyDeleteLove Bill Bryson! Hope it's as good as his previous books. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these. My boss and I were just discussing Bill Bryson on Friday. She's reading a good one by him right now about the English language? I haven't read any of his work but hope to in the future.
ReplyDeleteThese are all new to me. The Girl Who Tried on a Leaf...neat title.
ReplyDeleteI've had my eye on the new Bryson, as it really sounds fascinating. And I also like the sound of The Girl Who Trod on a Loaf!
