Musing Mondays

Musing Mondays (BIG)Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about library company…

Who, if anyone usually accompanies you to the library? Is it somewhere you go alone? Or is it a regular outing with family or friends? Which do you prefer?

I almost always go to the library by myself. Once in a great while my husband might come with me but I usually go at daytime times when he's working, since my local branch isn't open past 5:30 most days. He and I are not big library borrowers anyway; we buy or swap most of our books.

Musing Mondays is hosted by Rebecca at Just One More Page.

I go alone most of the time, too! My man isn't a borrower, and I like to walk they alleys of books for a looong time, even if I don't borrow much, either! :)

I go alone. If I go with someone, we still end up wandering apart usually. I work down the street from a library, so I usually go on my lunch break.

I haven't been to the library much lately, but I go alone too. My husband doesn't even have a library card.

If I went to the library, I imagine my husband would go with me. He'd feel left out if I didn't take him. :-) As it is, we haven't been in years.

I tend to go "alone" but of course that's really only regarding adult company. My 16 month old doesn't offer his opinion or ask for more or less time than I need so he's the perfect library companion. Of course this may change over the years but for now, he's my partner in crime. :)

I'm a loner, too. My wife's a library borrower, but she loses patience as I roam among the shelves, flip through CDs, look over magazines, etc. I don't think I've ever gone into a libnrary and emerged in less than 30 minutes.

Hi,
I just signed up as a follower. In your profile it says you are a librarian. Do you borrow from your workplace, or a different library? My other comment is about your interest in Jewish lit. I really liked Cham Potok's works (I hope the spelling is correct) and also People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. Have you read them?

Libraries are a solitary activity for me. I'm a bit of a loner, but actually my husband does not mind; it keeps me home.

I usually like to go to the library alone. That way no one can be irritated with me if I spend hours in the stacks. I also love perusing the YA section to bring home surprises for my kids, and spend a lot of time looking in that section. I have gone with my husband in the past, but he is the type to pick up the first book that looks interesting and leave, which doesn't really work for me.
