Friday Finds- Just a Few

"A smart beach book" is how I've heard French Lessons, by Ellen Sussman, described. Sounds good to me! It's set in Paris and looks like frothy fun.
Vanessa Diffenbaugh's The Language of Flowers is about a foster child who grows up into tenuous adulthood; it looks to be a wonderful book and I've heard great things already.
Finally, I picked up The Homecoming Party, by Carmine Abate, another Italian novel published by Europa Editions, for my ever-expanding collection.

I also found a first edition of Tim O'Brien's classic The Things They Carried, at the very moment when I was thinking about how much I would love to find one. And it was on sale!

What did you add to your bookshelf this week? Have a great Friday. More Friday Finds here.

Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters and
A Gate at the Stairs by Lorrie Moore
Can't wait to start reading!

I'm unfamiliar with The Homecoming Party, but like you, I am always on the lookout for Europas. Great finds!

I also will be reviewing French Lessons soon, and it sounds like a great book! I have been reading some really good things about The Language of Flowers this week as well, and will be interested in hearing your take on it. The new Europa looks interesting as well. Great finds this week, Marie!

I'm reading an ARC of French Lessons right now and so far I'm less than impressed, which is a disappointment.

The Homecoming Party is pretty good -- look forward to hearing your thoughts about it.

I too am reviewing French Lessons -- can't wait to see what you think of it. I just love Europa books -- from the graphic design to the authors -- so good!

Haven't purchased a book in about two months or so. Been reading from my TBRs. And that's what I do even if I make purchases. Because every book would be read, I read from the oldest... though I make a lot of exceptions like when I found Beloved and A Question of Power...
