Mailbox Monday! What Showed Up in Your Mailbox This Week?

Some more great things came in via the mailbox this week!

Seymour Chwast's graphic novel adaptation of The Canterbury Tales came in from Bloomsbury, a win from LibraryThing's Early Reviewer program. It's fun; I started reading it last night and should have a review soon.

I won The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain, and The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck, from Penguin. They did a giveaway of some classic banned books for Banned Books Week.

How cool is that, right? I haven't read Grapes in years and I've never read Huckleberry Finn (!) so I'm pretty excited to have such nice editions of these classics.
Finally, I got a copy of My Own Country, by Abraham Verghese, from Bookmooch. Verghese is of course the author of the wonderful Cutting for Stone, one of my favorite books of the last few years, and I can't wait to dig into Verghese's real-life memoir of his time as a young doctor specializing in AIDS patients. I used to volunteer at a local AIDS service organization and this is a topic close to my heart, and written about by one of my favorites. So this book has to be a winner.

I think that's a pretty good week in books!
