Sunday Salon- Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!

This Sunday we have a lot going on- my husband's writing group is coming over, and later we're having dinner with my dad. I don't know how much reading I'll be doing!

When my husband's group comes over, I'm going to work on thank-you notes to all the great library marketing folks who sent galleys to last Friday's conference held by the New England branch of the Association of Jewish Libraries. I was in charge of arranging for exhibits and while we weren't able to arrange for reps to visit, several publishers were extremely generous when it came to samples and galleys. Algonquin, Gefen, Harper Collins, Macmillan and Random House all sent us some wonderful treasures, and our attendees were thrilled. Permanent Paper also sent a box of their sticky notepads, which everybody loved and scooped up quite eagerly. If you're on Twitter, you can read my conference tweets at #neajl09; if you're interested in detailed conference notes, I'll be posting to our association blog, neajl.blogspot.com, in the next few days.

Then later, I'll be cooking up a rack of lamb and having my dad over for dinner. Should be fun.

What does your family have planned for the holiday?

Well, since my dad passed away a few years ago, and I'm a single mom, today is just another Sunday. The kids will call their dad to wish them Happy Father's Day, but other than that...

Have fun with Mr. Boston Bibliophile and his friends, and enjoy your dinner with your dad :-)

Carl has his nose in the book he got - we're having pulled pork for dinner at his request.

Oh my! Rack of lamb - yum!

So nice to read the shout-out to all the publishers that shared books (and sticky notes!) with conference attendees :)

Enjoy the (rainy, again!) day!

We went out to lunch in a lovely little pub to celebrate Fathers Day for my hubby. I didn't get to see my dad, as they live far away and have just returned home from visiting.

That sounds like a nice way to spend the day-having a nice dinner with Dad on Father's Day. My parents went to a wedding last night and my dad ate way too much so I know this sounds bad but he's requested MacDonald's so that's what he's getting. lol.

Grilling ahi tuna for my husband tonight, poor guy has to work this afternoon! Ah well, he worked Mother's Day, too, so I guess it's even.

I followed some of the #neajl09 chatter online yesterday and found it quite interesting. I hope you are having a nice day, Marie.

It's just a typical Sunday in my house. Hubby and I have been lazing about in between laundry loads. I can't wait until my foot is better and I can take the dog for walks again. I sure hope it won't be too hot by the time I am able.

Have a great week!
