What’s the worst book you’ve read recently?
(I figure it’s easier than asking your all-time worst, because, well, it’s recent!)
I haven't read that many bad books this year but probably the worst was Sonata for Miriam, by Linda Olsson, which I really disliked.

My mom read it and was very confused by the book. I will definitely send your review to her!
Jess- I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one! :-)
Picking carefully usually means you don't get to read many bad books. I must try it some time :-)
You'll find mine here.
I haven't heard of that one, but I'll avoid it in the future. I chose The Reader by Bernhard Schlink as my most recent BAD read. You can check out my thoughts here.
It doesn't sound like a book I'd like, either. But I enjoyed your review!
Never heard of it and now I dont wish to!

I had high hopes for that one too.
Every time I come across that one in a bookstore I pass it by, so apparently your review made an impression on me :-)!
it looks like not my kind of reading...so it'll be easy to avoid it :)
Glad I passed that one up then :)
Well if I don't like the book, I don't finish it. For books I have to finish, well I have no shame in admitting that I HATE the Harry Potter books. I did not like the first one, and as the hype took over I have disliked each on a little bit more.
Because of my standing in the local SF community, I have to read and have a basic understanding of them. I even attend midnight book release parties. Once I finish the hardcover off it goes to the public library.
ONE THOUSAND WHITE WOMEN....what a disappointment! It was a like a Penthouse Forum version of historical fiction.
