Unfinished Friday

Happy New Year!!

Any unfinished reads this week? Leave a link or comment below and we'll visit each other and share our unfinished books.

I know most of us endeavor to finish everything we read, but we don't have to, and sometimes it's impossible- it just doesn't work for us, for one reason or another. But it's still possible to get some mileage out of that work for your blog- by sharing it with us here on Fridays!

Happy New Year Marie-I have never tried quilting-although a friend made me a beautiful quilt as a wedding present. When we were in Idaho this fall we went to a quilt show.

Happy New Year!

What a great idea. I don't have any right now but I'm sure I will.

I think these posts have brought me luck, as I haven't had any awful books lately. Fingers crossed that the lucky streak continues!

Happy New Year Marie!

It finally dawned on me the day before last as I was settling in to work on my final post for 2009 that there was one book I didn't finish. I think because I was reading it off the computer, it slipped my mind. The first book in the Vampire Diaries series. I tried to read it over the summer and just couldn't get into it.

Can I just complain about not having finished a book, even if I don't have an active blog? Because I do feel very guilty about it. I have been trying to finish _Dogtown_ by Elyssa East, because it seems like it should be my kind of book, but I keep getting bogged down in the historical stuff that I think should interest me. I have 100 pages to go and am about to throw in the towel, but it's going to feel like a black mark on my record.

And you aren't going to hear it from me that I haven't yet finished _Cutting for Stone_, because I'm afraid you might start throwing things at me! (Rest assured I still HAVE it, though...for that one I've got a galley I can keep, not a library book, so it will continue to haunt me until I do finish it!)

Happy New Year!

Benay, I once threw aside a 400 page book one chapter from the finish line- just had all I could take. It was a book I thought I should like, just like yours- and I just didn't. I feel pathetic to come so close but I just can't bring myself to pick it up again. Oh well!

Happy New Year!! Glad you liked the Sherlock Holmes movie. I saw previews and have sooo wanted to see it.
I like you have been buried by ARCS and have decided to curtail the onslaught of mail as best I can. I really want this year to be more focused on my choices that are not deadline driven. Good luck with your challenge. This one is a good one.

I read the first 10 pages of Mrs. Dalloway and I've thought about abandoning. But I'm going to start over when I can concentrate properly and I'm hoping it's a success :)
