This week was all about the e-book for me. I had a gift certificate to the Sony eReader Store hanging around from my birthday, so I decided to go ahead and spend it on some things.
A Mountain of Crumbs, by Elena Gorokhova, a memoir about growing up in 1960s Soviet Russia, which appeals to my Russophile side. A while back I read a really great memoir on the same subject, called Out of Line: Growing up Soviet, by Tina Grimberg, and I'm really looking forward to Gorokhova's book.
Francine Prose's Reading Like a Writer is one that's been on my must-read list for a while.
Frederica, by Georgette Heyer, is an experiment in a new genre, which came to my attention thanks to one of the awesome blogs I read. I really need to start keeping track of exactly where these ideas come from, so I can give proper credit- and links!
Finally Dan Chaon's Await Your Reply is a novel I was interested in a while back and then sort of forgot about. Maybe I'll get to it soon!
What did you find this week?

I have Reading Like A Writer and though I haven't read all of it, what I have read, I've really gotten a lot out of.
Our book club just discussed Await Your Reply last night. My report tommorrow!
A friend of mine raves about A Mountain of Crumbs and has lent me her copy. Hopefully I'll get to it soon.
I really enjoyed Await Your Reply, as well as Chaon's earlier book. A Mountain of Crumbs is on my shelf but unread yet --enjoy!
I would love to read A Mountain of Crumbs. I read a book set during this time period when I was much younger and loved it! I've been wanting to revisit this time for awhile now so thank you for giving me a good book to add to my TBR.
I love the cover on Await Your Reply, and since I am shallow, now I will have to check the book out.
Good ones, all those!
Friday Find: Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes
I just went shopping for e-books as well. Isn't it exciting? All of these look like great reads and I will really be interested in hearing what you think about the Heyer book. I hve been on the fence about picking up one of her books for the past few months. Great score, Marie! I hope you enjoy all of them!
I will stay tuned to your thoughts on Await Your reply, which I didn't finish. I got sidetracked and forgot about it. Some kid was hospitalized after a car accident?
