Sunday Salon- Jewish Book Carnival!

So today is the second monthly Jewish Book Carnival, a monthly community-building blog roundup of links about Jewish books from a variety of bloggers. It lives on People of the Books, the blog of the Association of Jewish libraries. I hope you can stop by, and maybe even visit some of the participating blogs. If you'd like to participate next month, drop me an email at mcloutier at jewishlibraries.org with your blog URL and the link you'd like to share.

You can see a full list of participants, schedule and more on the AJL blog here.

Today's going to be a pretty laid-back day for me. I picked up some stomach bug and plan to spend the day reading and maybe working on some craft projects. I just started The Wrong Blood, by Manuel de Lope; I'm loving it! It's set during and after the Spanish Civil War and it's lovely literary fiction. I'm also reading Robert Musil's short stories, Five Women, which is very different but also very, very good.

Craft-wise, I got the rest of the materials I need to finish the scrapbook that was my personal project for my bookmaking class, so if I feel up to it I'll do some puttering on that, as well.

What are you up to today? I hope you have a great Sunday. More Sunday Salon here.

Ooh, I am definitely going to check this out, thanks for posting! I read and reviewed People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it. I love books with a Jewish theme, premise, subject matter, etc. I'm excited to visit the blogs!

Sorry to hear about your stomach bug -- I hate getting sick in the summertime. Feel better!

My regular trip to Boston is in a couple of weeks -- visiting my in-laws and St. Anthony's Festival in the North End! One day I'll be moving there! :)

I hope you feel better soon, Marie! I hope the reading and crafts help.

It's reading, gardening, and blogging for me this afternoon.

Hope you feel better soon. I know several people right now that are down with the stomach flu. I guess it is making its rounds again.

Oh...I'm sorry you feel bad. Feel better soon!!!

I was going to read on Sunday and do some blogging, but I got immersed in yard work. When I was done I was so tired, I felt like I couldn't even lift my arms when I was taking a shower. I was wiped out for sure. I couldn't even read I was so tired. That's what happens when you get old.....but I did work tirelessly for 5 hours so that must have done me in.

I hope by the time you read this you are back feeling better. :)
