Sunday Salon- Today I *Am* Going to Read!

Every Sunday I talk about what I'm reading but Sunday always ends up being busy and I usually get very little reading time in. Not so today. I've got By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept, a soft pillow and some coffee, and I'm not moving until I'm done with this novella, recommended to me by my friend Michele Filgate of RiverRun Books in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Today is the end of the Thanksgiving weekend festivities in my family, a four-day marathon of family, food, shopping and more. The official activities ended this morning at breakfast; in addition to the holiday celebration itself, we had a bunch of relatives visiting Friday through today. Friday night we went shopping and had Thanksgiving dinner leftovers; Saturday my husband and I hosted a brunch and went out shopping afterwards. Saturday night most of us went to see the new Harry Potter movie, which we all enjoyed. I haven't read any of the books nor seen any movies since HP4 but I had no trouble following this one. I enjoyed the way this movie seems to bring together a lot of different threads from the earlier films and the way the story has evolved. I can't wait for the final part!

But now I'm going to get back to my book. Hope you all have a great day!

More Sunday Salon is here.

I am so jealous that you carved out some time today to get a lot of reading done. I don't think I will get much reading done today unfortunately.

Yes! And I hope that you do not even bother to get dressed if at all possible. An occasional day of sloth is the best way to re-charge. Happy reading!

I *am* (also) going to read today.

I will not spend all day visiting blogs.

I'll just visit a few blogs.

The good ones.

Here's my Sunday Salon post: http://readerbuzz.blogspot.com/2010/11/sunday-salon-thankfully-reading-weekend.html

I spent most of my holiday resting from the cold from Hell I received during bus duty last week. ;) It's been quiet; I read Dr. Zhivago all day yesterday before the fire. Today we had church, and I'm contemplating putting up the Christmas things. (Less is more!) Your vacation sounds wonderful, such good plans and activities and feasts! I also want to say, as Persephone Secret Santa gifts start rolling around the blog-o-sphere, how much I appreciate you being my Persephone gifter last year. And perhaps the greater gift was a year following in which to blog together.

That book is one of my all-time favourites. I reread it every few years and I can't say that about any other book. Enjoy!

Your Thanksgiving festivities sound wonderful but I bet you're glad to finally relax. I set out today to read and haven't had a chance to yet. Maybe now that Sammy is sleeping I just might have a chance. lol.

I always say that I am going to use Sunday as a time to catch up on my reading, but I am never really able to realize that goal. It's good to hear that you are getting the chance to read today and will finish the novella. I hope it's a good one!
