It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Today I'm reading a few things. I have one story to go in Dan Chaon's new collection Stay Awake, and I'm reading one story a day in Etgar Keret's collection The Bus Driver Who Wanted to be God and Other Stories. I started Susan Sherman's The Little Russian yesterday; it's a new novel from Counterpoint about a Jewish woman who moves from the glitter of life in Moscow back to the boonies of Ukraine, and the attendant difficulties. And I'm still reading Obabakoak, a collection of linked short stories set in the Basque region of Spain. I finished up Leaving the Atocha Station yesterday and I'll have a review soon! Of the four books I'm currently reading, I'm really crazy about the Keret!

What are you reading this Monday?

I've always wanted to sample Etgar Keret because the people on Library Thing really go crazy about him! (that is, liking him). But I'm so anti-short story!

I have gone back to Absalom, Absalom! a book I suspended after about 150 pages of the 483. But this time it is working better. What is needed is deep concentration and attention to the long sentences the author employs.

You sound like you've got your plate full with great reads this week! I am reading a few books myself this week. I am reading Middlemarch with Aarti, participating in the People's Readalong with Jill and Jenners, and finishing up Graveminder for a book tour. I am also listening to Bonk by Mary Roach with my husband, and The Marriage Plot by myself. I am exhausted just typing that all out!

Have a great reading week, Marie!

Holy cow! I'd never be able to keep up with that many plots at one time.

Talking about the Jewish, I just finished Farthing by Jo Walton. Horrifying how Jews were treated in England in the 1940s.
