It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

I didn't finish any books this past week, but I will finish at least one this week.

I'm almost done with Arctic Summer, by Damon Galgut, his fictionalization of the life of E.M. Forster. This is not what I could term a light read but it's keeping me going and I'm interested to see where it all ends up. Right now I'd recommend it to readers who like character-driven books and books that fictionalize the lives of real people. I'd also recommend it to readers of Alan Hollinghurst.

I'm still reading Vestments though I have a feeling I'm going to DNF it. It's just not holding my attention. I'll give it a couple of more days but that might be it.

I started reading Isabel Fonseca's Bury Me Standing, her memoir of traveling and living among the Roma/Gypsy people of Eastern Europe in the early 1990s. I'm finding this book fascinating. I'm reading it at the gym and unfortunately I took a spill that's going to keep me out for another day or two, but maybe I'll treat myself and read some at home.

I have a lot of new reviews to write this week, so I'd better get started. What are you reading this week?

See more at BookJourney.wordpress.com. Have a great week!

Your recommendation of Arctic Summer to fans of Hollinghurst was unexpected, but I like it! Big fan of Hollingshurst, less so of Arctic Summer, though it has stuck with me in a nice way.
