My husband and I took a little weekend getaway trip to the south Jersey community of Cape May and really had a great time on the beach and eating our way around the area. It's so beautiful down there. And of course we had to check out the bookstores.
Cape Atlantic Book Company is a nice store on the second floor of a mini shopping mall in downtown Cape May. This is definitely the place you want to go to pick up your new beach reads. They had a great selection of hardcovers and paperbacks and tons of Colleen Hoover for what that's worth.
Hooked on Books is a big crazy used bookstore located in nearby Wildwood, New Jersey. I loved this:
A very big selection of Irish books! It includes fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, history, you name it. Fun fun.My favorite bookstore was
Barrier Island Booksellers in Stone Harbor, a bit of ways away from Cape May but definitely in the area. This is a lovely little store, with mostly used books, as well as fun stickers and accessories and very friendly staff. They don't seem to have a webpage, though. And it was here that I actually bought something- The Brontës: The Letters, Diaries and Writings of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë. This is a lovely little collection of personal writing and ephemera of the Brontë sisters. It reminded me a lot of the exhibit I saw at the Morgan Library on Charlotte, several years ago. Such a little treasure!
We had such a great time there and hope to return soon!

I could spend years in those bookstores! And thanks for the recommendation of Pushkin Hills--I've added it to my to-read list!
