What’s the funniest book you’ve read recently?
The funniest book I've read recently was Jonathan Tropper's This is Where I Leave You. The themes of the book are serious- death, the end of a marriage, growing up- but the voice and tone are sarcastic, hilarious and laugh-out-loud funny. It's also raunchy and irreverrent- a great book for the beach, and you'll read it in two or three sittings. It's out next week.

I plan on buying this over the weekend. I loved Tropper's first novel, THE BOOK OF JOE, and I'm glad to hear that this is the same type of read. Thanks!
I'm not a big fans of Funny book, but I do have a book that I love so much that is soooo funny.
I'll keep an eye out for this one!

I'm going to check out your pick. Here is my response.
I think I might check into this one. I have never heard of the author, but I am always open to try a new one!
The funniest one that I have read recently was Finger Lickin Fifteen by Janet Evanovich. I LOVE her Stephanie Plum series. They crack me up and I read them in like a day.
How did you get your hands on a copy? I thought this wasn't out yet. I'm a huge Tropper fan. Must. Get. This. Book! :)
Sounds great...my funnies were audios!
Looks like I would enjoy the sarcasm..Mine is up at The Burton Review
Karen, I got it from the publicist since it's about a Jewish family and I do a lot of Jewish-interest book reviews.

This was in the Editor's Buzz panel at BEA. It looks fantastic, and your sneak peek has me adding it to my BUY list!
I freakin' loved this book! My review is set to be posted I think August 6th or 7th. Loved it! I'm giving away a copy!
I've just read Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome and it's funny, in a dry understated English way. I do love Jewish humour though so I may check out this book.
Jonathan Tropper will be at Porter Square Books on August 11, if you're interested! http://portersquarebooksblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/jonathan-tropper.html
This book is getting a fair amount of buzz; I'll certainly be adding it to my (ever-expanding!) to-read list!
Hi Marie, I just started reading this. I thought the same thing it was funny, sarcastic, raunchy, and full of sex scenes and I haven't gotten further after page 50 yet. I was ready to apologize to you. I don't think I am a prude but I thought I might have offended you when I read even the first page. But I see you did enjoy the book. Now I don't feel bad about suggesting this one to you. I will keep the radar up for the next one.
