Unfinished Friday - Back for Round Two
We're back for another round!
My Unfinished Pick of the week is Jarretsville, by Cornelia Nixon.
I got it for review from the publisher, Counterpoint; I decided to give
it a go and told the publicist to expect a review in October or November. Well, now it's almost the end of December and I haven't gotten past the first chapter, so... yeah. I love Counterpoint but I don't think this one's going to happen! The book is a novel about the Civil War, in which a woman murders her fiancé. It's based on a true story from the author's family and I'm sure it's really good. It just didn't hold my attention.
And you? Do you have an unfinished book you'd like to tell us about? Leave a link with the URL to your post!

Too bad you didn't like this one--it sounds good!
I don't think that would hold my attention, either.
I only stopped reading one book this year, Dan Simmons' The Terror. My review of it is available here.
Sorry you didn't like the book. I always think that's a bummer.
I saw that in the bookstore the other day and almost bought. It did look like it would be really good. I had said that I would go back for it later, but never got around to it.
I have this for review as well, but haven't read it yet.
Here's my Unfinished Friday post, the book is Lady Macbeth's daughter, a YA rewrite of Macbeth from a different point of view. I feel like a weight has been lifted, as this review was 7 weeks overdue! Thank you!
My first Unfinished Friday post! http://booksslicedanddiced.wordpress.com/2009/12/18/unfinished-friday/
So excited to be participating my my first Unfinished Friday
You know, I think I can honestly say that I don't think this book would float my boat either. I am not really big on war lit. anymore, which is funny, because it used to be a specialty of mine. Sorry this one wasn't for you.
I hate to admit it, but I can't finish Ted Kennedy's book. I got it the day it came out and have been trying to finish it. I always manage to distract myself.
I'm not a big historical fan, so this probably wouldn't hold my interest either. Have been lucky lately with good books (knock wood), but I'm horribly behind with my reviews.
I am totally going to join this if you keep doing it. Probably start in the new year - off and on.
Marie - what a great idea to allow us a way to be able to comment on those works that don't work for us but may work for someone else. I'm planning to join in whenver I give up on one, whether I intend to return later or not.
I'll be sure to link to you when I do.
