I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't read anything by McEwan, and I need to change that. I've heard so many good things...

I like Ian McEwan, too, and I will never, ever forget Atonement nor the wrath I still for Briony. "Poor, naive girl" (as many people still insist) my ass! ;)
