Sunday Salon - I'm Back Here Somewhere

So last week I wrote all my blog posts for the week over the weekend and that worked well so I'm trying it again this week. Work is keeping me on my toes but so far I'm able to get things done. Last week seemed incredibly busy- I think I was out every night for something- and I'm hoping that this week will be a little more laid-back. I would like, for example, to come home after work and be able to just relax! We'll see.

Reading? I've been reading review books this month but alternating between review books and "me" books to make progress on both sides of the shelf, so to speak. And to not feel depressed that most of the review books I've been reading are turkeys. I finished Season of Water and Ice, by Donald Lystra, which is an oh-kay teen angst book. I got it for review almost a year ago (I'm not that far behind on everything!) and I read it quickly. These days coming of age stories have to be pretty special to hold my attention and this one is holding it, but barely. This is another one of those that I think a lot of people would like a lot more than I do not because it's not good but because I'm just being cranky or something. So I started Igino Ugo Tarchetti's Fosca, a love story set in 19th century Italy, as my new "me" book.  So far so good!

What are you up to today? I hope you have a great Sunday. More Sunday Salon here.

Hi! I just found you via another blog.... and as I live north of Boston, I felt like I need to "follow" you - not in a stalker way, promise ;o)

I also write most of my posts ahead of time... although I rarely have a post for every day. It makes it easier for me to plan and organize myself - esp. when the review books pile up!

Have a great Sunday!

I am ALMOST caught up on ARCs, but I swear, the madness has to stop. I just got more books at the UCF book festival and I want to read them all now. Usually I am appeased after a readathon, but I can't seem to dig my way out. I am way out on my posts, with a bunch more I need to write. Ha. You'd think this was a full-time job or something!

I must say that I'm impressed with bloggers like yourself who can write ahead. I've rarely been able to do that. Most of the time, like this morning, I fly by the seat of my pants. As for being cranky, I don't know why but I was the same way last night. So I can relate...and definitely relate to the busyness of life...and just wanting to come home and relax. Today I hope to do a little of that with continuing to reread A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

I like to write posts on the weekends too -- I have more space to write, and I feel less frantic trying to fit blogging/reading/life together during the week. Some weekends are more successful than others :)

I should try writing ahead on the weekend. I've been so behind with my blogging.

I hope it is starting to feel like spring for you. We had some nice weather last Monday, here in Vermont. But it has been so windy and cold here this weekend.

I've noticed that Friday is becoming the best day for me to write reviews. For some reason that's when I'm most energetic. Glad to hear everything's working out well for you.

Seems like you're keeping a pretty good handle on things. I would LOVE to be able to come home from work and relax, but sometimes I don't even get to take off my coat before I'm dealing with some mini-crisis or another! Yikes!

Hope this week goes smoothly for you! :)

I try to write a my posts over the weekend but I always fail. I allow myself to get distracted. Must try harder... Have a good work week.

Sorry about the "turkeys," but glad everything else is going so well! Hope the new job is fantastic!

I don't really have a regular weekend like most people, so while I would love to get in the habit of writing all my posts ahead,I rarely get very far on that idea.
Like so many... ;-)

That's a good tip. Wondering if I could try it. Work, Blog and Outing... hope you have a nice time this week.

It sounds like your new job is keeping you busy! I always struggle to find the balance between work/home/blogging and reading!

YAY for "me" books! I'm actually dedicating myself to a "me" book weekend as we speak. Hope you continue to enjoy alternating.
