This week’s musing asks…
Did you do any reading in lieu of watching the football game, yesterday, or were you foregoing reading to watch the game? If you read a book (or books) what did you choose?
I watched the Super Bowl! I live in Boston- our team was playing, so I watched, and what a boring, underwhelming game it was. My husband and I, and our visiting friend Phil of Read Irresponsibly, hung out with my husband's parents and had chili while we watched. Of course for me "watching" is a relative term; while I was technically in the room and looking at the television, I didn't understand much of what was going on and my mind was on the books in my bag even if my eyes couldn't be!

My family was watching and eating, but i was reading. I always love the Superbowl because I can just sit and read with my whole family surrounding me. I was reading The Rebel Wife, by Taylor Polites. Fantastic book!
LOL, nice answer. I'm not a fan either.

This was one year that I wasn't all that interested in watching the game. I did enjoy the commercials and read throughout the entire game so that was a good thing.
I 'watched' with my husband. We live in OR. now, but both grew up in Maine, so the Pats are our team. He actually knew what was going on, but i had an open book i was reading while psuedo-watching. It is 'Consequences of the Heart' by Peter Cunningham. Excellent!
I was watching closely most of the time, getting my husband to explain a lot of the game rules to me. I found out a lot of things, but he was surprised that I knew so little :) Can't say I blame him.
We manage to get into it even if we are not invested in the teams. In this case, I root for whoever is playing the Pats (sorry). We always have food and wine and have some kind of betting pool, which makes things exciting. I have gotten absolutely no reading done. Or reviewing. Pretty soon I'm going to have to shut down the blog if I'm not careful.
We went to a party but I didn't watch the game.
Sandy! Oh, Sandy.
We did pretty much what you did -- being in Boston, we had to have the show on (so I could at least converse with my coworkers about the commercials). But we noshed and called girlfriends and played on the internet -- nothing very productive. Still, it was kind of a lovely way to end my weekend -- very lazy!
I doubt many people are totally watching the game.
I was just waiting for the commercials.
I tried to totally watch the game! But I still managed to miss most of the actual scoring. I would see the score and think, 'huh? How did they get to 9 points?!' :P
