What's New on the Shelf

Since I'm reading all the same things I wasn't reading last week I thought I'd do a little new books update.

The Promise of a Normal Life, by Rebecca Kaiser Gibson, came to me for review. It's a coming of age story that is also featured in the list of 23 Jewish Books We're Looking Forward to in 2023 list on MyAlma. Promising and check out that list for other great reads.

Raw Dog: The Naked Truth About Hot Dogs is the latest by Jamie Loftus, who I wish was my BFF but sadly is not. Anyway she's a great comedian and podcaster; I enjoyed the heck out of her My Year in Mensa podcast as well as the podcast she did on Lolita. I can't wait to read this, which comes out in May but I will get to it sooner.

The Night Flowers, by Sara Herchenroether, is a promising looking thriller from the always-reliable Tin House. It comes out in May.

The Road to Dalton, by Shannon Bowring, is coming from Europa Editions set in Maine which I always love. It comes out in June.

So now I have some reading and reviewing to get to! It's been a while since I've had review obligations and I'm pretty happy about it to be honest.

The Night Flowers title sounds ominous. Good title for a thriller, I think.
