Booking Through Thursday

Suggested by Janet:

The opposite of last week’s question: “What’s the best ‘worst’ book you’ve ever read — the one you like despite some negative reviews or features?”

The best 'worst' book I've read is probably James Patterson's Kiss the Girls. The book is plain trash- but I couldn't put it down! I picked it up at an airport and I haven't read Patterson before or since. I read this one because the movie with Ashley Judd was about to come out, and I have a long-standing crush on Miss Judd.

It's hard for me to admit but I've never read a Patterson book. To scary for me LOL but I just won a book 'Sundays at Tiffany's' of his that I'm looking forward to reading. Happy BTT!

I've never read James Patterson either. I'd think of them as candy reading, though!

"Sundays at Tiffany's" could probably give "Kiss the Girls" a run for its money as worst book!

I have only read one Patterson book, because it was recommended by someone close to me, but never going back there again. I enjoyed Kiss the Girls, the movie, though. :D

I don't know why I keep reading Patterson. I liked his early stuff in the Cross series. And the woman's murder series is good, but the other stuff is meh and I keep reading it.

For some reason I keep reading Patterson - been there with him since Along Came a Spider hit it big (and reread his backlist at that point). I like him - not great literature mind you but good escapism. Sometimes I come ahead shaking my head and wondering why, but I never regret the time spent reading his books. I call them brain candy.

Like Charli and me I have never read a 'Patterson' book. Mine is one of Anna Quindlen's.

I've never read Patterson before! I'm going to have to try him when I need to escape reality.

I'm about to read my first James Patterson book. I have to agree with you though - plain trash sometimes just hits the spot. My post is up now. here

I enjoy reading Patterson very much :)

The books I choose were Twilight and The DaVinci Code :)

Patterson's book probably wouldn't have come to mind but I have to agree with that assessment. I couldn't put it down either.

I've never read Patterson, but I did enjoy the film version of this book. And lots of times 'trashy' books are fabulous!!

I know lots of people like James Patterson, but having ploughed through two of his books, they left me with nothing except a desire to throw them at the wall. Guess he's just not for me.
