It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Well, after this weekend's Read-a-thon, I was able to finish up a small stack of books and start a new one. Now, I'm reading
  • The Moonflower Vine, by Jetta Carleton, which I'm loving,
  • Growing Up, by Angela Thirkell, a during-the-war novel set in rural England, a wonderful treat of a book, and
  • I'm starting The Prague Cemetary, Umberto Eco's new book, later today.
And I'll be buying the Steve Jobs biography this week the minute it hits the shelves!

I can't wait to tell you more about The Moonflower Vine. I know a lot of you would really like it! I'm trying not to blaze through it but it's a wonderful read, one you don't want to put down and don't want to ever finish.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted at BookJourney.

I'll be curious to read your thoughts on The Pargue Cemetery; I like the sound of it and have an eGalley. enjoy

I love Angela Thirkell, and your description is spot on. Come to think of it, I need that kind of treat...:)

Of course I'm drawn to The Prague Cemetery, since my son (a photographer) lived in Prague for more than a decade.

I'm also curious about The Moonflower Vine.

My husband pre-ordered the Jobs book, and can't wait to get started with it as well! The Moonflower Vine sounds very interesting, and I will be eager to see what you think of it. I am reading The Lady of the Rivers by Gregory. A guilty pleasure, I think!

I'm going to have to read the Jobs book. I'm wondering if there is going to be a line for that like his phones...

I too can't wait to see what you think of the Prague Cemetery. I'm reading my first Stephen King in...fifteen years. Enjoying it, too, despite myself!

Im gonna try finishing up Hunger Games this week. I've never been able to read multiple books at the same time, usually like to stick to one and finish it before I start another but maybe I'll try it sometime!

I was reading "Jamarch's Menagerie" by Carol Birch, but after getting into another argument ove Russian literature with my friend Columbine (her side of the argument can be read here: http://violetimpudence.tumblr.com/post/11916098044/russian-vs-american-books ), I will go to library and take out "Ilf and Petrov's American Road Trip: The 1935 Travelogue of Two Soviet Writers", because while I suggested "12 chairs" by the same authors to my friend, someone from Russia told she uses the road trip one as gently leading Americans to Russian lit.

I didn't know that Eco had a new book out. Where have I been? I loved The Name of the Rose and will add this newest one to my list too.
