This week my husband and I weeded our books.
Mostly he weeded his books. I have a standing discard pile and every now and then when it looks particularly large I run the ISBNs through the Powell's website to see what I can sell. I came up a little short of their minimum but when he added his books in, there was plenty and we could send off a box. He reads mostly science fiction and fantasy and those books are in higher demand than my middle-of-the-road literary fiction and narrative nonfiction. And he has many fewer books than I do but feels worse about hoarding them. I have no shame.
Anyhoo we got a box out and gave some galleys to the local little free library and have three totes to bring to the charity bookstore this week. And then Saturday night I finished two books and will be adding one of them to the new discard pile I started.
And I picked a few things out of his discard pile to add to my own TBR. Everybody wins! Maybe I'll do a post on that sometime soon.
Happy Sunday!

I need to weed my unread stacks. These days I'm finding some of the print is too small or too light for my eyes. I hate to admit that Kindle or LP may be my options before long as my eyes just get too tired too fast when the print is tiny. Is there a minimum number of books to send off to Powells?
Diane, they have a minimum value I think. I forget what it is. You can upload a file with ISBNs to their Sell section and get an estimate. They don't take galleys.
Thank you for the Powell's info.
