It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

This week I have a new slate of books I'm enjoying.

The Colony, by Audrey Magee, is set on a fictional isolated Irish island in 1979, at the height of the Troubles, and concerns two men who have come to the island for their own reasons- a French linguist and an English painter- and how they interact with the residents. Interspersed are reports of sectarian murders. It's all going somewhere; I'm not sure where yet. It was nominated for the 2022 Booker Prize and I can see why.

A Girl's Story is Annie Ernaux's memoir of her first sexual experiences. It's riveting. From now on though I'm reading her in French.

Still on the same audio. I expect to finish the two paper books relatively soon and then I'll be reading something for review and something else I haven't decided on yet. What are you reading?
