What's New on the Shelf

I had a couple of mini shopping sprees lately.

Catch the Rabbit, by Lana Bastašić, and L.A. Woman by Eve Babitz both came from a recent trip to McNally Jackson in the Seaport District. I had planned to look for Catch the Rabbit and L.A. Woman was more of an impulse buy. I forget where I heard about Rabbit but I've always wanted to read an Eve Babitz book and figured L.A. Woman was as good a place to start as any. And it only just occurred to me that the covers are similarly colored.

A quick foray into my town's used bookstore, Symposia, yielded Joseph Mitchell's Up in Old Hotel and Sally Rooney's Conversations with Friends. I've heard a lot about the Mitchell book over the years and have been curious about it, so I thought it was a good opportunity to pick it up. And after reading Normal People I want to read all of Sally Rooney's books so that was a no-brainer.

What have you added to your shelves lately?
