What's New on the Shelf

This is just a selection of the new books I've added to my shelf since the last time I posted.

Foster, by Claire Keegan, is the novel that the movie "The Quiet Girl" was based on. I got it at the lovely Transom Bookshop in Tarrytown, New York, just this past Sunday, after cheating death when a giant tree branch fell off in the road in front our car. Memories!

The Librarianist, by Patrick deWitt, came from Jabberwocky Books in Rockport, Mass., a few weeks ago. I'm a fan for life of deWitt's so obviously I needed this in hardcover. I don't care what it's about.

Not Russian, by Mikhail Shevelev, came highly recommended by someone. I picked it up in my happy place,  Kinokuniya Books in midtown Manhattan. What's your bookish happy place?

I've bought or found a lot more books than this in the past few weeks, but I didn't want to do a big long post. What's new on your shelf?
